About the
Role:
The Security Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all personnel and visitors. This position involves monitoring premises, conducting regular patrols, and responding to incidents to prevent unauthorized access and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The Security Officer will also be responsible for managing access control systems and utilizing communication technologies to report and address security concerns effectively. By fostering a culture of safety and vigilance, the Security Officer contributes to the overall well-being of the organization. Ultimately, the goal is to create a secure atmosphere that allows all individuals to perform their duties without fear or disruption.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid security guard license or certification as required by local regulations. Proven experience in a security role or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with access control systems and surveillance technology. First aid and CPR certification. Additional training in conflict resolution or emergency response.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to monitor for suspicious activity and ensure safety protocols are followed. Manage access control systems, including checking identification and granting entry to authorized personnel only. Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action to mitigate risks. Utilize communication devices to report incidents and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary. Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
Skills:
The required skills for this position are essential for ensuring the safety and security of the environment. Intermediate computer skills are utilized for operating security software and maintaining logs, while knowledge of wireless technology aids in effective communication across the premises.
