Job Description

Position Summary The Door Security is responsible for maintaining a safe, controlled, and welcoming entry environment for all guests. This role ensures proper ID verification, manages guest flow, enforces venue policies, and helps prevent incidents before they occur. The Door Security serves as the first point of contact and sets the tone for the guest experience while protecting the establishment from risk. Key Responsibilities Guest Entry & Safety Greet guests professionally and maintain a positive first impression. Verify all IDs for age and validity; deny entry to anyone who does not meet requirements. Screen guests for signs of intoxication, aggression, or safety risks. Enforce occupancy limits and monitor guest flow. Policy Enforcement Uphold entry rules, and bar policies consistently and fairly. Prevent entry of prohibited items (weapons, outside alcohol, etc.). Line & Crowd Management Maintain an organized and safe entrance area. Communicate wait times clearly and manage the line to avoid crowding. Assist the team in maintaining a safe environment during peak hours. Incident Prevention & Response Observe guest behavior for early signs of conflict or risk. De-escalate situations using verbal communication and a calm approach. Notify management or security team immediately of issues or incidents. Document or report any significant incidents according to company procedure. Communication Alert the team to suspicious behavior, denied entries, or capacity updates. Maintain professionalism in all interactions. Emergency Preparedness Understand and follow emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and safety protocols. Assist in clearing entry areas during emergencies. Follow instructions from management or emergency personnel. Qualifications Experience in security, nightlife, hospitality, or customer service preferred. Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Physically able to stand for long periods and manage crowd control. Knowledge of local ID laws and alcohol service regulations. Must be at least 21 years old. Personal Attributes Confident, observant, and alert at all times. Professional demeanor and appearance. Respectful, fair, and non-discriminatory in all decisions. Strong sense of integrity and responsibility. Guest-focused while prioritizing safety. Work Environment Fast-paced nightlife and bar environment. Requires standing for long periods and engaging with the public. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
