ESTATE & EXECUTIVE PROTECTION SPECIALIST
Bernardsville, New Jersey Compensation:
$155,000 to $160,000 DOE plus
Healthcare Benefits Benefits:

Discretionary Bonus Shift:
Primary overnight hours, typically 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM, with occasional daytime driving assignments to New York City. Weekend coverage required. Days and hours will vary based upon the principals' schedule and protection needs. Flexibility is essential. Our returning long time client, a well established Ultra High Net Worth family, is seeking an experienced Estate & Executive Protection Specialist to help protect the principals, family members, residence, grounds, and overall estate. This opportunity may be particularly appealing to professionals with backgrounds in Executive Protection, Family Office Security, Estate Protection, the United States Secret Service, Diplomatic Security Service, or similar Ultra High Net Worth environments. This is a highly trusted and visible role within a sophisticated private household. The right candidate will bring a strong protection mindset, excellent judgment, discretion, professionalism, and the ability to operate independently within a private family environment. You will work from a dedicated office within the main residence, monitoring estate activity, overseeing security systems, maintaining situational awareness, and conducting regular patrols throughout the property. While the role is primarily estate based, the successful candidate must also be comfortable providing executive protection support to the principals when required. This may include accompanying principals to appointments, meetings, events, dinners, travel, and other activities while maintaining a discreet, professional, and protective presence. The ability to assess surroundings, anticipate potential concerns, and exercise sound judgment in both private and public settings is essential. The position combines estate protection, executive protection principles, property oversight, emergency preparedness, and occasional transportation of the principals. The family seeks a mature professional who understands that successful protection is proactive, discreet, and rarely disruptive. The family has employed long term staff and values loyalty, professionalism, trust, and confidentiality. The Role Monitor and oversee security systems, cameras, alarms, access control systems, and related technology Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the residence and grounds Maintain awareness of visitors, vendors, contractors, deliveries, and service personnel entering and exiting the property Provide a visible yet discreet protective presence throughout the estate Identify, assess, and address potential concerns before they become problems Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and outside security providers when necessary Maintain security logs, incident reports, and related documentation Assist with emergency preparedness planning and response procedures Monitor access points and overall activity throughout the property Provide executive protection support to principals as needed Accompany principals to appointments, meetings, events, dinners, travel, and other activities when requested Maintain situational awareness in both public and private environments Conduct basic advance planning, route awareness, and risk assessment when appropriate Identify and assess potential threats, vulnerabilities, or security concerns Provide transportation to the principals as needed, including occasional trips into New York City Maintain heightened awareness while transporting principals Interact professionally with principals, family members, guests, vendors, and household staff Support the principals with protection related requests as needed Help ensure the overall safety and wellbeing of the principals, family members, guests, staff, and estate Required Certifications and Licensing Valid New Jersey Permit to Carry a Handgun Current New Jersey Security Officer Registration (SORA) or ability to obtain prior to employment Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record Must possess a reliable personal vehicle and maintain reliable transportation to and from the residence Current CPR Certification Qualifications Authorized to work in the United States Experience in Estate Protection, Executive Protection, Family Office Security, Law Enforcement, Military Service, Federal Service, Diplomatic Security, or a comparable protective services environment required Current or prior experience supporting an Ultra High Net Worth household, family office, private estate, executive residence, or principal is strongly preferred Candidates with backgrounds in Executive Protection, Family Office Security, Estate Protection, the United States Secret Service, Diplomatic Security Service, or similar Ultra High Net Worth environments are strongly encouraged to apply Prior Executive Protection experience supporting principals, executives, family offices, or Ultra High Net Worth individuals is highly desirable Strong understanding of protective services, threat awareness, emergency preparedness, and risk mitigation Comfortable utilizing modern security technology, camera systems, access control systems, and related software Professional driving experience preferred Comfortable navigating New York City and surrounding metropolitan areas Excellent observational, communication, and problem solving skills Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure Ability to maintain alertness, attentiveness, and sound judgment during overnight shifts Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times Excellent judgment, professionalism, and integrity Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make appropriate decisions without direct supervision Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, and patrol the property for extended periods Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds Must be physically capable of responding to emergencies and performing the essential functions of the position
