We are currently seeking Hospital Security Officers to join our team in Las Vegas, NM , providing safety and protection within a healthcare environment. Position Overview The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff. This position involves both patrol and post duties, incident response, and ensuring compliance with hospital security procedures and state regulations. Key Responsibilities Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or disturbances. Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to ensure only authorized personnel access. Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations. Assist medical staff with patient-related safety issues, including behavioral or psychiatric incidents. Prepare detailed and accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident reports. Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious behavior or hazards. Provide escort services for staff, patients, or visitors when necessary. Communicate effectively with hospital administration, law enforcement, and emergency personnel. Enforce hospital rules, regulations, and safety policies while maintaining professionalism and compassion. Maintain situational awareness and uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old (21 for armed positions). Must possess a valid New Mexico Security Guard License (Level 1 or 2). Prior hospital, healthcare, or law enforcement experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional under stress or during emergencies. Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays). Must pass a background check and drug screening . Preferred Skills CPR, First Aid, and AED certification. Experience handling difficult or distressed individuals with professionalism and empathy. Familiarity with hospital procedures and emergency response protocols. Strong observational and report-writing skills. Schedule Shifts may include day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday rotations . Part-time schedules available.
