- Full-time Job Overview The Las Campanas Master Association is seeking an experienced and service‑driven Security Captain to join our leadership team.
Capability to perform physical tasks:
walking patrols, responding quickly, or managing emergencies. Ability to remain calm, observant, and effective under stress. In-depth knowledge of Gate House and patrol operations, access control, visitor management. Understanding of incident response protocols, reporting requirements, and evidence handling. Ability to conduct site inspections and vulnerability assessments. Familiarity with alarm systems, CCTV operations, radio communication, and emergency procedures. Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate security personnel across multiple shifts. Skilled in delegating tasks, assigning posts, and ensuring coverage. Competence in coaching, evaluating performance, and issuing corrective actions. Strong decision-making under pressure, especially during incidents or emergencies. Strong verbal communication for de-escalation, directions, and emergency coordination. Clear written communication for incident reports, memos, and shift briefings. Ability to interact professionally with residents, employees, vendors, law enforcement, and management. Skilled in conflict resolution and customer‑service‑oriented problem solving. Understanding of state and federal laws related to security operations, trespass, use of force, and liability. Knowledge of privacy laws relevant to CCTV, access logs, and sensitive information. Ability to maintain accurate, compliant documentation for incidents, safety concerns, and patrol reports. Ethical conduct and commitment to professional standards, de-escalation, and unbiased enforcement. Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting, scheduling, and record keeping. Skills in shift scheduling, tracking hours, and reviewing logs/footage.Ability to maintain operational tools:
radios, keys, patrol vehicles, and equipment. Ability to train new officers on patrol techniques, procedures, emergency response, and safety protocols. Competence in conducting drills, orientations, and on-the-job coaching. Knowledge of SOP development, policy updates, and reporting unsafe conditions to leadership. Understanding of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), evacuation routes, and emergency notifications. Skills in responding to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous conditions, and severe weather events. Familiarity withICS/NIMS
structure and coordination with police, fire, EMS, or HOA management (relevant to you). Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazard identification, and OSHA fundamentals. Qualifications 4+ years of security, law enforcement, or emergency response experience. Prior supervisory or leadership experience required. Strong communication, decision‑making, and crisis‑management skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with high resident interaction. Valid driver's license; CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain). Ability to pass a comprehensive background screening, including criminal history and driving record checks. Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and develop a team of security officers, medics, and supervisors. Support administrative tasks including timecard review, leave approvals, and commendations. Manage staffing schedules, patrol assignments, and daily operational readiness. Oversee property surveillance, access control, and incident response. Coordinate emergency and medical response with internal staff and local agencies. Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and adherence to security protocols. Deliver ongoing training and support professional development for all officers. Promote exceptional customer service and positive resident interactions. Oversee fleet readiness, equipment needs, and supply inventory. What do you get for your hard work?Salary Range:
$26.00 to 31.00 per hour (DOE) 100% company paid Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & AD&D, and Short-Term Disability coverage. (Annual value of $8,320.80) (Also includes 50% company paid dependent medical coverage. Flexible Spending Account (FSA). 401(K) Retirement Account with up to a 5% employer match. Eligible after serving 1 year of continuous employment. 12 paid holidays. Paid Time Off (PTO) (88 hours first year- increases with tenure).
