Job Description

Position Summary Leads and coordinates ambassador staff assigned to observer escort, conduct documentation, schedule support, and site coordination. The role helps ensure ambassadors perform consistently, professionally, and in compliance with County policies. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily ambassador assignments, posts, rotations, breaks, and schedule adjustments in coordination with the designated supervisor. Train ambassadors on observer escort procedures, prohibited conduct documentation, nonpartisan conduct, and escalation paths. Serve as the first point of support for ambassador questions, incident reports, access concerns, and documentation review. Coordinate with site supervisors, security contacts, and election staff to support orderly observer access and safe operations. Review incident notes for completeness, factual accuracy, timeliness, and proper routing. Track ambassador attendance, deployment, performance issues, and supply needs as assigned. Model calm communication, confidentiality, voter privacy protection, and professional nonpartisan conduct. Required Skills and Competencies Leadership, coaching, and ability to set expectations clearly for temporary staff. Documentation accuracy and ability to review incident notes without speculation or bias. Strong communication, de-escalation, judgment, and public-facing professionalism. Ability to coordinate schedules, posts, breaks, and rapid changes in a busy election environment. Nonpartisan conduct and commitment to County policy compliance. Minimum Qualifications and Compliance Requirements Background check and drug screening required before assignment. Must comply with County policies, security procedures, observer rules, and documentation standards. Prior leadership, election operations, security coordination, or public-facing supervisory experience preferred. Must complete required County training before leading ambassador staff. Schedule and Working Conditions May require standing, walking, monitoring multiple areas, and responding quickly to issues at election sites. High-visibility role requiring calm judgment and professional communication under pressure. Must be available to work through the election cycle with limited requested days off. Must be available for schedule needs that may include 8-10 hour shifts, weekends, flexible start and end times, overtime, and extended hours on specific event days, especially Election Day. Must remain reliable, punctual, and responsive to assignment changes during a fast-paced, deadline-driven election environment. Must follow County security rules, workplace policies, chain-of-custody expectations, confidentiality requirements, dress code, and professional conduct standards. Performance Expectations Completes assigned work accurately, on time, and in accordance with training and County procedures. Maintains nonpartisan conduct, voter confidentiality, ballot security, and respectful service at all times. Escalates exceptions, voter issues, equipment concerns, safety concerns, and unclear instructions promptly to the designated supervisor or lead. Accurately documents work performed, materials handled, calls received, records updated, and/or batch activity as applicable to the assignment.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $20.00 - $20.00 Per Hour
