Job Description
Position Summary:
Ensures iSpice Foods' campus is safe and secure for employees and visitors by routinely patrolling all buildings and grounds, responding as required to requests for assistance from employees or visitors, and monitoring entry at the main entrance.Education, License & Cert:
Classroom training in a field relevant to security functions with coursework in the behavioral sciences is strongly preferred. NYS registration as a security guard is required. Valid Drivers' License required. High School Diploma or equivalency required, further Educational Degree preferred.Experience:
One or more years of experience in institutional security, preferably in a food or pharmaceutical production facility or a similar setting, must be experienced in effectively interacting with people. Must possess excellent communication skills.Essential Functions:
- Manage all entries and exits of individuals from iSpice Foods' property.
- Walk the campus regularly to ensure perimeter integrity; report any issues to the General Manager
- Responds to calls for assistance.
- Consistently demonstrates good judgment, ability to assess situations, consider alternatives, and select an appropriate course of action. Consult supervisor as appropriate. Completes a minimum of eight (8) hours of continuing education per year on security-related issues.
- Perform duties in a courteous and friendly manner toward all employees and visitors.
- Maintain appropriate confidence in the performance of duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Other Duties:
- Assist with answering phones, logging visitors, communicating employee call-ins to appropriate departments, and aiding HR with coordinating interviews and other activities as needed.
