Security Team

SUMMARY OF POSITION

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Model and maintain a balance between giving grace and communicating truth to all being served. Work overnights, weekends and holidays. Attend meetings, as requested, by supervisor. Respond to emergency incidents, including fires, fire alarms, medical, and general safety matters and assist staff with coordinating staff emergency responses. Search guest belongings, following written procedures when drugs, paraphernalia, medications, or weapons are found. Supervise guests throughout the building, in person and with security technology. Ensure safety protocols and policies are followed. Oversee and operate the security camera system and ensure that system software is kept up-to-date. Patrol premises to ensure properties and equipment are secure; be prepared to navigate ladders, ramps and stairs, as well as running, on occasion. Maintain mental alertness, giving attention to small and large security details. Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a neat and professional appearance.

Possessing a heart of compassion and caring toward the homeless and hurting, exhibiting compassionate ministry that aids in life-transformation by those served. Affirms and engages with responsibilities in accordance with the Mission's policies as stated in the Mission Directives, Code of Conduct, Statement of Faith, and Mission, Vision, and Core Values Statements. Possesses the ability to work effectively with others in a positive, cooperative manner. Willingly signs a confidentiality agreement. Able and willing to de-escalate people or situations, both verbally and physically Willing to be trained to administer CPR, Narcan, and other emergency procedures in emergency situations. Excellent interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication. Possession of a security guard license per state requirements and maintain an active status. Extensive knowledge and experience in preventing illegal activity and maintaining control in varied environments.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS

This position requires frequent interaction with a homeless population, who may be intoxicated or under the influence of behavior-altering substances and who may lack socially-acceptable personal hygiene.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Proven experience as a security manager or similar position Experience in reporting and doing emergency response planning High school graduate or GED earned
