Work Schedule:

Thursday - Saturday 6:00am - 6:30pm (12 Hour Shifts 36 Hours) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Armed Security Guard Shift Supervisor to support operations at Governors Island . This full-time leadership role is responsible for supervising security personnel, maintaining public safety operations, and ensuring compliance with all site-specific security and emergency response procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, prior law enforcement and/or supervisory experience, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic public environment. Responsibilities Supervise and oversee daily armed security operations and assigned personnel at Governors Island Ensure the safety and security of visitors, staff, and property Respond to emergencies, incidents, alarms, and public safety concerns in a timely and professional manner Enforce site rules, security procedures, and applicable safety regulations Prepare detailed incident and activity reports Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and management as necessary Conduct routine patrols and inspections of assigned areas Monitor compliance with fire safety and emergency preparedness protocols Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to security staff during assigned shifts Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service in all interactions Qualifications New York State Armed Security Guard License (REQUIRED) Prior law enforcement and/or supervisory experience (REQUIRED) New York State EMT Certification (PREFERRED) Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (Within 30 Days of Employment) Must be able to obtain

F03 & F04

Fireguard Certification (Within 30 Days of Employment) Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card (Within 30 Days of Employment - Reimbursed by Company) Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and sound judgment under pressure
