Job Description

Compensation Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Safety & Security Position Summary Summary:
The Supervisor supervises and monitors daily security shift operations by providing protection and security by properly implementing security management plans, protocols, and directives. The Supervisor protects hospital buildings, assets, life property and grounds as assigned by ensuring that proactive security patrols are conducted throughout the institution. The Supervisor is also accountable for communicating changing operational requirements to all shift personnel and conducting security assessments with detailed recommendations to the department head.
Qualifications Responsibilities:
Education Required Must complete in-house orientation program HS Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred. Completes Code Gray Training Experience And Skills Speaks, reads and writes English Police or related experience. Previous Supervisory experience preferred. Conflict resolution & problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with all levels of personnel and public issues. License/Certifications Preferred armed NYS Security Guard License or an active Police or Peace officer retired less than 10 years as per the NYS General Business Law Article 7-A-(89-E - 89W). CPI required for Supervisors conducting Code Gray training only Code of Conduct Pistol License required if not active Law Enforcement.

Working Conditions Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time. Be physically effective as a team member during a Security/Restraint, Code "Pink" and all other Hospital related responses.
