Our Mission :
Creating a better world by serving people in need. What will I do as a Security Officer with Lutheran Social Services? Verify entrance for residents at side door, primarily during curfew. Perform internal inspections of the CHOICES' facility to ensure the security of the building and to check for any security concerns. Communicates any violations via the Unusual Incident Report procedure and informs direct supervisor. Performs exterior inspections of the CHOICES's facility via cameras to ensure the security of the building and to check for any safety concerns. Communicates any violations via the Unusual Incident Report procedure and informs direct supervisor. Accompany Shelter Advocate and Case Management staff to de-escalate any incidents and/or threats of violence utilizing techniques provided from staff training. Responds to security concerns according to CHOICES/Lutheran Social Services policies and procedures. Utilize daily log to document incidents, occurrences, and shift activity. Submit to manager and security team prior to end of shift. Proactively communicates any issues or concerns to on-coming shift Security Officer. Accompany staff when directed to conduct searches according to CHOICES policiesprocedures, for Reasonable Suspicion. Escorts staff, volunteers, visitors, and other persons to and from vehicles as requested or necessary. Always maintains professional demeanor with residents, donors, volunteers, and other staff. Lutheran Social Services:
High School degree, GED, or equivalent work experience required. Previous experience in a security role preferred. Previous experience working with a diverse population preferred. Previous experience in a residential social service setting preferred. Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet LSS insurance standards required.
