Full Job Description Position:

Armed Security Officer Pay Rate:

$21.00 / hour (W-2 employment)

Schedule:

Weekend Evenings (Friday & Saturday nights)

Location:

O'Brien's Pub (Established local neighborhood pub) -About the Role O'Brien's Pub is seeking a professional, observant, and licensed Armed Security Officer to join our team for weekend evening shifts. Unlike standard corporate settings, this role requires a candidate who can balance safety with hospitality. O'Brien's is a staple of the community; our goal is to maintain a welcoming, fun, and safe atmosphere for our patrons and staff while ensuring a visible, deterrent presence to prevent conflicts before they start. -

Key Responsibilities Vigilant Presence:

Maintain a highly visible, professional armed presence at the entrance and within the establishment.

Crowd & Access Control:

Check IDs at the door, monitor capacity limits, and ensure no unauthorized items enter the premises(This includes bag checks, and wanding of customers).

De-escalation:

Actively monitor the crowd to identify and peacefully defuse potential conflicts or unruly behavior using verbal de-escalation techniques.

Asset Protection:

Safeguard staff, patrons, and property, assisting with safe closing procedures and escorting staff if needed.

Emergency Response:

Respond rapidly and decisively to security breaches or emergencies, coordinating with local law enforcement when necessary. -

What We Offer Competitive Pay:

$21.00/hr as a standard W-2 employee (with standard tax withholding and protections).

Position Requirements Experience:

Minimum 1 year of armed security experience, preferably in nightlife, hospitality, or high-density environments.

Licensing:

Must possess a valid State Armed Security Guard License/Permit and a valid Firearms Permit. (Mandatory)

Gear:

Must provide your own approved firearm, duty belt, and level II or III retention holster.

Skills:

Exceptional situational awareness, excellent verbal communication, and a calm demeanor under pressure.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a 4-to-5 hour shift.

Background:
