Safety Officer

Position Overview:

Schedule:

10:00 pm - 6:00 am. Under the general supervision of a Campus Safety Supervisor, this position is a member of a team of officers responsible for providing personal safety for members of the university community through a courteous, helpful and professional manner. This position provides a highly visual deterrent to campus crime while protecting the property and assets of the university.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

2 years' security work experience and/or physical security and protection of assets training; emergency services experience including fire and rescue; military and/or law enforcement experience; experience using radio communications equipment.

Work Related Knowledge:

CPR and First Aid Certification (or recertification provided after hire)

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid driver's license. Act 34 clearance Act 235 (preferred not required). Law enforcement certification (preferred not required). Complete University safe driver program with van certification within 30 days of hire (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered.) Shift rotation: 7 nights working followed by two days off 8 nights working followed by four days off Long weekend off (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) every 3rd weekend

Pay and Benefits:

Starting at $15.50 / hour, with potential for higher rate based on experience and certifications. Double time and ½ pay for designated university holidays. Vacation, personal, and sick time provided with full-time status and accrual. Misericordia University is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position. Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the United States.
