Job Description

Part Time Evening Shift Schedule PRN (As Needed): Minimum 16
Hours/Biweekly Day/Evening/Night Shift Weekends and Holidays, Required Pay Rate:
$22.00/hr General Summary Provides a safe and secure environment for, and responds to the needs of patients, employees, visitors, and other customers of the System. Protects System buildings, assets and premises as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities Patrols the buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intrusion. Patrol parking lots to ensure the safety of individuals and the security of parked vehicles. Reports all suspicious activity, parking violations and abandoned vehicles. Responds to emergency situations such as accidents and injuries, fire alarms, crimes, in progress events and safety hazards and uses the appropriate force to resolve situations by following established training, policies and procedures. Provides assistance, summons proper authorities, and polices area to maintain order, safety and to protect property. Employs all necessary equipment to include Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during situations that are deemed unsafe and during interactions with precaution patients. Responds to inquiries for advice or assistance from employees, students, visitors, and other customers; provides physical restraint of psychiatric patients and others as needed. Monitors the conduct of visitors on premises; confronts unauthorized persons for questioning as needed; secures weapons and contraband. Escorts personnel and visitors to parking lots and hospital buildings. Maintains post as assigned in accordance with training. Notifies police in case of theft, breaking and entering or other related criminal matters requiring notification of authorities. Notifies Supervisors of events requiring further investigation and assists as directed. Maintains records, prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to safety and security activities and attends hearings. Conducts routine visual inspections; reports safety and/or fire hazards or security violations. Responds to on site fire drills; responds to on site fire alarms and assists the responding fire department. Secures and/or unlocks offices and facilities. Supports the parking policy, enforcing parking regulations, providing traffic management, and performing other related duties. Complies with all department and organizational policies and procedures. Assists with the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Performs Security Operations duties as assigned. Secures patient valuables and found property. Prepares clear, concise, and factual incident reports. Ensures all documentation is submitted as required prior to end of shift. Completes vehicle checklists

Remains current on all required trainings. Attends trainings/educational programs as assigned. Participates in department meetings and in-service meetings as directed. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through supporting improvement and innovation. Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment and safety standards.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required Licenses:
Heartsaver CPR/AED within 90 days
Required Driver's License Statement:
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.

IS-100.c - Intro to Incident Command System, I-100 within 90 days Required and Report Writing within 90 days Required and Practical and Tactical Handcuffing within 90 days Preferred and Oleoresin Capsicum (Gel) within 90 days Preferred and Taser within 90 days Preferred and Behavioral Emergency Response Training (BERT) within 90 days
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
