Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Armed Rover Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all the client's venues, properties, staff, patrons, and assets during the evening and overnight hours. This position requires patrolling multiple sites, monitoring activity, responding to incidents, and providing a visible and professional security presence throughout the client's assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular foot patrols of the client's buildings, theaters, galleries, parking areas, and surrounding premises. Monitor activity via surveillance systems and physical observation; report any suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or security concerns. Secure buildings, doors, and access points according to nightly procedures. Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, or requests for assistance. Provide guest and staff assistance with directions, escorts, or emergency response as needed. Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs. Collaborate with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and internal staff as needed during incidents. Enforce all the client's policies and safety protocols while maintaining a courteous and approachable demeanor. Support event operations by assisting with crowd control, artist/vendor access, and emergency evacuation procedures when required. Perform occasional equipment checks and minor maintenance (e.g., checking fire extinguishers, lights, doors).
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. ACT 235 certification. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is not required but preferred. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and work in varying weather conditions. Excellent observational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire). Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations. Familiarity with downtown Pittsburgh is a plus.
Schedule & Work Environment:
24 hours
Part-Time Shift:
Sat-Sun 10am-10pm Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on event schedules. Indoor and outdoor work environments. Uniform provided.
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
