In this role, you will be the first line of defense, monitoring access points, conducting surveillance, and ensuring a secure environment for staff, visitors, and property. Your proactive presence will help prevent incidents, manage conflicts effectively, and maintain a safe atmosphere. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a secure community while developing your skills in security operations. Duties Monitor entrances and exits to authorize authorized personnel, visitors, and vendors while maintaining strict access control. Conduct regular patrols of the facility using CCTV surveillance systems and physical inspections to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorized activity. Respond promptly to security incidents or disturbances by applying conflict management techniques and alerting law enforcement or emergency services when necessary. Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks to ensure accurate record-keeping. Perform safety checks including basic first aid and CPR when needed to assist injured individuals or manage medical emergencies. Utilize CCTV (closed-circuit television) systems for ongoing surveillance and threat detection across the premises. Support loss prevention initiatives by identifying suspicious behavior and implementing preventative measures. Qualifications Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable. Knowledge of surveillance technology such as CCTV systems and familiarity with conflict management strategies. Certification in CPR and first aid is preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already held. Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert during long shifts. Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with team members, visitors, and emergency responders. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally while maintaining a positive attitude. Physical fitness to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods as required.
