Job Description

The Opportunity:
The Campus Security Officer supports and ensures the safety, welfare, and security of students, staff, families, and campus visitors in alignment with the school's mission. As a visible and trusted presence on campus, security fosters a culture of safety while managing visitor protocols and providing high-quality customer service to the community. The key responsibilities of the position will be: Access Control and Visitor Management Staff the visiting gate to control the flow of traffic and visitors on campus. Manage and record visitor access logs, keeping track of who is on campus at any given time. Check identification and record vehicle logs of on campus visitors and vehicles. Patrol and Surveillance Conduct regular foot patrols of campus buildings, residence halls, parking lots, and campus boundaries. Become familiar with students, faculty, parents, and visitors. Crisis and Emergency Response Serve as a member of the school's crisis response team and safety committee. Understand the school's crisis response procedures and assist during any crisis that may arise. Respond immediately to fire alarms, medical emergencies, or security alerts. Facility Security Lock and unlock facilities according to daily schedules. Inspect doors and windows. Report maintenance hazards or system malfunctions. Report and intervene with any campus visitors who are not cleared to be on campus. The ideal candidate for the position will possess the following qualifications and qualities: Effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents, faculty, and visitors. Empathy, patience, and the ability to navigate sensitive and complex situations with discretion and professionalism. Successful experience working collaboratively as a member of a team to identify and solve challenges. Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Valid CPR/AED Certification Valid First Aid Certification Possession of a valid driver's license Why Work at Kiski?
