Job Description

Unarmed Overnight Hotel Security Officer Responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and quiet environment for hotel guests, staff, and property during overnight hours (typically 11 PM - 7 AM). This is an entry-level role focused on observation, deterrence, and reporting—not physical enforcement. Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an O/N Hotel Security Officer, where your vigilance and dedication will ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and visitors during overnight hours. This entry-level, unarmed position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop foundational security skills while contributing to the safety and security of our hotel property. Your proactive approach will help prevent incidents, assist guests, and maintain a secure atmosphere throughout the night shift.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patrol & Monitoring Conduct routine patrols of hallways, parking lots, entrances, and common areas Monitor CCTV/security cameras and alarm systems Check for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or unauthorized access 2. Access Control Ensure only guests and authorized personnel enter the property Lock/unlock designated doors at scheduled times Verify guest/vendor credentials if needed 3. Incident Response Respond calmly to disturbances (noise complaints, disputes, loitering) De-escalate situations when possible (no physical force) Contact police/fire/EMS when necessary 4. Reporting Write detailed incident reports and nightly activity logs Document anything unusual (damage, trespassing, accidents) Communicate issues to hotel management/front desk 5. Customer Service Assist guests with directions or minor concerns Provide a visible, professional presence Support front desk staff if needed
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license (required) Strong observation and communication skills Ability to stay awake and alert overnight
