Job Description

The Village at Penn State (located in State College, PA) is one of the area's premier Continuing Care Retirement communities. We have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Security Guard position.
Shift Available:
Full-Time--7:00pm-7:00am including every other weekend.
Key job responsibilities include:
Patrol community buildings and grounds including all parking lots to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry and to protect the welfare and safety of residents, employees, and visitors. Permit visitors or other authorized persons coming into the Main Lobby area to enter property after signing in. Able to operate computer, phone, and provide security. Patrol interior and exterior of all buildings including parking lots. Confront unauthorized person(s) for questioning; route or detail them or call police for assistance when needed. Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering or smoking in restricted areas. Check cars for parking authorization by observation and determine if vehicles are parked in restricted areas such as driveways and fire lanes. Respond to emergency calls from residents. Assess their need and call 911 when necessary. Respond to fire alarms, report conditions, and stabilize the situation. Respond to all alarms within 3 minutes. Unlock doors in emergency cases to admit authorities or any medical personnel, and assist in lifting residents when needed. Admit residents to their residence when key is forgotten or misplaced. Observe departing personnel to guard against theft from residents, employees, and other community properties. Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, security doors left unlocked, and unauthorized person(s).
Education and Experience:
