THE POSITION
As a Security Officer 1 with Wernersville State Hospital, you will play an important part in creating a calm, safe, and orderly setting. Your work will help safeguard people, property, and daily operations throughout the hospital grounds. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports the safety and security of consumers, staff, visitors, and property across the hospital campus. The work helps maintain order, support emergency response, and ensure seamless operations. As a Security Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:
Facility Patrol:
Monitor tunnels, buildings, and grounds to identify safety hazards, unauthorized persons, and unusual conditions
Traffic Control:
Enforce vehicle regulations, maintain orderly parking, and support proper traffic flow on hospital property
Assistance Service:
Escort or help visitors, consumers, and staff by providing directions, support, and safe movement
Emergency Response:
Assist with searches, incident investigations, and coordination with emergency services
Report Completion:
Document daily activities, incidents, and observations according to established procedures
Operational Support:
Perform inspections, deliver items, and assist with communication center coverage when needed Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, with varied days off and two 15-minute breaks. You will work every other weekend. Schedule may change based on operational needs. Overtime as operationally necessary

You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $38,515.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.
