DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position plays an important role in maintaining the safety and security of the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. The work supports residents, staff, and visitors by monitoring activity, responding to concerns, and helping keep the facility protected. As a Security Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:
Patrol Duties:
Conduct building and grounds patrols to check for safety concerns, theft, or unauthorized activity
Access Control:
Secure buildings, check locks, and ensure proper lighting during and after operating hours
Traffic Oversight:
Direct parking and vehicle movement while enforcing facility rules
Assistance Provided:
Help visitors, residents, and staff by giving information and preventing unauthorized access
Emergency Response:
Respond to urgent situations, assist with missing residents, and coordinate with police as needed
Investigative Tasks:
Gather information, interview individuals, and document findings during investigations Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM), rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirement:
You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.
Additional Requirement:
You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Experience in the security field including the following duties: Patrol grounds and buildings Check for violation of fire and safety rules and regulations Check locks and lights of buildings or offices Answer phone calls related to security concerns or emergencies Assist and offer customer service to visitors and the public Approach unauthorized persons to prevent loitering Assist with police investigations Work with fire and safety panels, such as addressing alarms and resetting trouble codes Work with disaster and emergency preparedness plans Operate surveillance and security equipment and monitors Experience in a nursing-type facility searching for missing residents or assisting residents during an emergency
Legal Requirements:
