Job Description
Powell Asset Protection Agency is seeking candidates for part-time armed security officer positions. Hours will vary from week to week, but 10-15 hrs per week is generally anticipated. Assignments are varied, but primarily involve providing security to local college, high school, and middle school sporting events in late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. We will only assign details that match your availability. Ideal opportunity for supplemental income to regular full-time work or for retired or prior military or law enforcement. Duties include watching over, protecting and defending people and property against unauthorized access, intrusion, damage, injury, or loss on contracted property, as well as reporting all observations and response activities.
Additional duties include the following:
- Observe and react to violations of law or policy
- Observe and react to emergencies
- Observe and react to thefts or other violations of law or policy
- Legal apprehension and/or arrest of individuals on contracted properties and in accordance with post orders
- Maintain order and discipline/access control/crowd control.
- All duties are to be conducted in accordance with state and/or federal law
Requirements:
- All candidates must be at least 21 yrs of age at time of hire.
- Selected candidates must be available forcompany-scheduled South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) armed security certification training on Saturday and Sunday July 11-12, 2026.
- Selected candidates must pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
- Selected candidates must possess their own reliable transportation and smart phone.
- Selected candidates must own a well-maintained semi-automatic hand gun (9mm or higher) with a minimum of two magazines and owb holster prior to being hired. Must bring gun and holster to training on July 11-12.
- All new hires are required to purchase their own handcuffs, flashlight, web belt, duty trousers, and shoes/boots.
