The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to incidents. The Security Officer will monitor premises, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Scope of Work Inside Security will patrol the inside of the facility on foot. Inside Security Officers should ensure that they patrol all areas of the store with particular attention to the high occupancy areas. Report identified safety issues to facility management, i.e., emergency exit issues, spills, water leaks, burned out lights, safety hazards. Inside Security Officers may be periodically asked to accompany transporting cash or high value merchandise within the store. Inside Security Officers may be periodically asked to patrol outside parking lots, parking garages, and stairwells. When appropriate, Inside Security Officers should act as a witness to apprehensions and detentions, but should never engage in any external theft investigation or detention activities. Facility management or Asset Protection Associates/Managers will take the lead role in all external thefts. Other duties as per post orders. Skills Valid security certificate or relevant training in security operations is preferred. Proficient in surveillance techniques Knowledge of loss prevention strategies and best practices. Background in military or law enforcement is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent observational skills with attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
