Job Summary Protects students, staff, and visitors from harm, and to prevent theft, vandalism, and destruction of school board properties and assets. What you will do Patrols school properties to prevent, discover, and report burglaries, trespass, vandalism, thefts, arsons, and other unlawful activities on school property, and to identify, report, and correct security violations. Responds to calls and complaints received from burglar and fire alarm dispatchers, school personnel, and citizens regarding unsafe conditions or illegal activity on school properties. Develops facts and makes them available in report form to supervisory personnel and appropriate agencies. Deals effectively and maintains good relations with school personnel, students, parents, and law enforcement representatives. Takes appropriate actions and carries out assignments intended to protect students, staff, visitors, and school properties. Investigates unusual conditions; takes immediate action when leaks or malfunctions in plumbing, electrical, heating, or other equipment are detected to reduce danger and prevent possible damage; notifies proper persons or agencies regarding impaired equipment; and takes appropriate emergency action. Knowledgeable and skilled in conducting searches of individuals and their possessions, including the use of hand-held and walk-thru metal detectors. Prosecutes on behalf of the Metropolitan Board of Public Education criminal activity on school board property and testifies in court actions resulting from criminal activity committed on school board property. $24.56 Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline. .
