Provide for the safety of all students, staff, and visitors and the security of all district and campus property and equipment. Assist the Director of Safety and Security in the development and implementation of procedures that will ensure the protection of all district personnel and property.Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Level 3 Security License (Armed)Special Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of investigation, report writing, criminal laws, and District policies and procedures Ability to record information clearly and accurately Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to work effectively with youths and adults Ability to communicate effectively (verbally) Firearm proficient, and able to pass minimum standards assessed byTexas Department of Public Safety Preferred Experience:
Background in law enforcement or security related work experienceMajor Responsibilities and Duties:
Patrol routes walking (campus) or driving (patrol) within district buildings and grounds to prevent fires, theft, vandalism, narcotics use, and illegal entries. Enforce laws including federal and state statutes, and district rules and regulations. Maintain liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. District boundaries. Inspect and secure doors, windows, and gates regularly. Respond and investigate any calls from campuses concerning security problems. Assume responsibility for the operation of the alarm systems in assigned district building(s). Notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate or prompt attention. Prepare complete incident reports and notify appropriate authorities. Coordinate with other administrators and law enforcement agencies in obtaining additional security help for special events or school activities. Ensure that all visitors are authorized to be on campus. Assist in traffic control and parking on the school campus. Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors. Monitor and rove as assigned. Assist with video monitor equipment at assigned building(s). Assist campus with all emergency management responsibilities, including but not limited to campus safety plans, emergency maps, execution of drills, & utilization of any software applications Any other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:
