Summary:
The security guard will patrol premises, monitor surveillance systems, enforce access control and security protocols, respond to incidents and emergencies, document activities, and maintain a safe environment for people and property.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Observation:
Conduct routine patrols on foot to inspect the premises, buildings, and perimeter. Monitor security camera footage and other surveillance systems for suspicious activities. Identify and report any suspicious behaviors, individuals, or occurrences on the property.
Access and Control:
Monitor and authorize the entrance and exit of clients, personnel, visitors, and vehicles. Screen visitors, verify identification, and maintain visitor logs as required. Ensure all doors, windows, and other entry points are secure.
Emergency Response and Assistance:
Respond promptly to alarms, distress calls, and other security concerns. React in a timely manner to emergencies and take necessary actions to ensure the safety of people and property. Aid individuals in need, direct visitors, and offer general support.
Reporting and Documenting:
Prepare detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, suspicious actions, and violations of policies. Maintain an accurate log of activities, security issues, and events occurring on the premises. Communicate clearly with leadership, law enforcement, and other emergency services when necessary.
Policy Enforcement:
Enforce company security policies, building rules, and relevant legal protocols. Act as a viable deterrent to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal or unauthorized activities.
Competencies:
The ability to notice details, detect potential threats, and maintain awareness of surroundings. Sensitivity and ability to work with people of various races, cultures and socioeconomic levels. A high level of trustworthiness, professionalism, and ethical conduct to maintain public trust and professional reputation. Clear and effective verbal and written skills to relay information to others, write reports, and interact with public. Safe driving practices. Service clients and outside contacts with dignity and respect. Observe client confidentiality requirements. Skill in operations surveillance systems, alarm systems, access control devices, and basic computer applications. Capacity to make swift, informed decisions in stressful situations and find solutions to security issues. To handle physically demanding tasks, such as standing for extended periods, patrolling, and responding quickly to incidents. The ability to de-escalate tense situations and manage individuals who may be intoxicated or disruptive. Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work. Flexibility to handle changing environments and evolving security challenges. Understanding of and adherence to
