Summary Under general supervision, a Security Officer will patrol by foot, motor vehicle or bicycle, and enforces city policies, administrative orders, regulations and security controls; advises citizens of laws and regulations, ordinances and apparent violations; Security Officers will respond to disturbances within the area of assigned responsibility without use of physical restrain or force; prepares incident reports and forwards documentation to Police Administration, reports all violations of noted security issues; Works alongside and under supervision of the City of Eagle Pass Police Department to provide high visibility security to serve and protect our both people and property. Person in this class must frequently work alone on a day or night shift, guided by defined procedures, regulations and established work practices. Distinguishing Career Features A Security Officer primary responsibility is to effectively serve and secure our citizens, employees and property of the City of Eagle Pass. This will include buildings, equipment and the persons and property thereon by properly reporting deficiencies as they are encountered. The major requirements are reliability and alertness in detecting unusual conditions. The Security Officer thru radio communication, with Police Dispatch, will report any and all security violations to the Police Department. The Security Officer will prepare reports on incidents or violations to the appropriate City Departments.
