PRIMARY PURPOSE
Assist in providing and maintaining a safe and orderly climate for students, teachers, and staff, and to assist in maintaining the efficiency of building operations and grounds.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills:
Interpersonal communication skills Ability to make judgments and decisions in a crisis situation
Experience:
Experience in working with children in public school environment preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Monitor students before, during, and after school as assigned by supervisor. Monitor students inside the buildings and outside the buildings as assigned by supervisor. Assist in getting students to class on time and monitor students who are tardy. Check hall passes as appropriate. Assist in the enforcement of district policy and school rules. Serve as an escort for assigned students during the school day. Assist the teaching staff and administration during crisis situations. Report any questionable or inappropriate conduct to the principal for further investigation. The campus monitor should not search a student or student's property. All physical force or restraints must be limited to emergency situations which present immediate danger to a person. Assist in directing visitors to the office for sign-in. Report any and all safety hazards to supervisor immediately. Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at designated site on a regular daily basis according to established work schedule. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain positive interaction with campus administration, staff, students, and parents. Comply with all federal and state laws, district and local campus routines, policy, and regulations Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or principal.

Bull horn, 2 way radio, golf cart (high school only)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands:
Strenuous walking and standing, work inside and outside, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, slippery and uneven walking surfaces, high noise level; Ability to perform occasional emergency restraint; Ability to operate golf cart (high school only).
