ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
include the following: Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking. Resolve conflict or confrontation between students and report disturbances to principal or assistant principal. Control traffic and parking of campus grounds. Work cooperatively with office personnel to inform students of problems with vehicles (i.e., improperly parked, lights on, etc.) Assist law enforcement personnel as needed. Notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention. Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors. Check doors, windows, and gates to be certain school facilities are secure. Patrols assigned campus and/or campuses. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, ability to follow prescribed procedures and policies, ability to pay attention to detail, and the ability to operate a two-way radio. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High School Graduate or
GED. LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate with students, parents and staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS N/A REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables at one time.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS
Texas Department of Safety Non-Commissioned Security Officer Level II or the ability to become certified. Valid Texas drivers license, must meet insurability criteria.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Maintain emotional control under stress. Continuous walking and standing. May be subject to extreme physical acts of others (i.e., restraining students involved in altercations).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure to vehicle exhaust. Works both inside and outside the school facility and may be exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
