This position is primarily located in a climate controlled guard shack. Job Summary Join our dedicated security team as a Guard Shack Security Officer, working overnight shifts from Monday through Wednesday, 11pm to 7am. In this vital role, you will be the first line of defense, ensuring the safety and security of the premises during nighttime hours. Your proactive presence at the security shack will help monitor access points, conduct surveillance, and respond swiftly to any incidents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your security expertise in a dynamic environment while maintaining a vigilant watch over our facilities. Duties Manage access control by verifying credentials of employees, visitors, and contractors entering and exiting the premises during your shift Conduct regular surveillance using CCTV systems to monitor activity across key areas and identify potential security threats Respond promptly to alarms or suspicious activity, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed Maintain detailed logs of all entries, exits, incidents, and observations during your shift Perform routine inspections of the security shack and surrounding perimeter to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance Enforce loss prevention measures by observing for theft or vandalism and taking appropriate action Provide assistance with first aid or CPR in emergency situations, demonstrating preparedness and calmness under pressure Requirements Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable Certification in CPR and first aid is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV and experience with conflict management techniques Strong understanding of loss prevention strategies and security protocols Ability to remain alert during overnight hours while maintaining professionalism and attentiveness Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with emergency responders Physical ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods during the shift This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to ensure safety through vigilant monitoring and quick response.
