This position requires a strong presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to weekly shift needs. To be considered for this opportunity, all applicants must be certified as a security officer in the state of Virginia and currently hold an active DCJS Guard Card. Must have a reliable vehicle to fulfill patrol duties. Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of the premises to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards. Manage access control by verifying identification and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors. Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations when necessary. Perform detailed inspections of individuals and property to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized entry. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incident reports, and security checks to ensure thorough documentation. Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency responders during incidents requiring additional support. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor. Experience Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable. Knowledge of surveillance techniques and CCTV systems is essential for effective monitoring. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred to handle medical emergencies confidently. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial. Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques helps maintain a safe environment for all stakeholders.
