Job Description

Safety Team MemberLocation:
Brattleboro Union High School CampusReports To:
Safety Team Coordinator and AdministrationType:
The position is Wage Grade 5 with benefits, 8 hours per day, 189 days per year.
Salary range:
$24.46 - $32.67 per hour depending on experience.

Job SummaryIn this role, youll work closely with students, school staff, and community partners to prevent incidents, support positive behavior, and ensure our campus is a safe and welcoming place to learn and grow.

About the RoleWere looking for a reliable Safety Team Member to join our Safety Team for the 2026-2027 school year. As a Safety Team member youll work closely with students and staff to prevent incidents, build supportive relationships, and ensure our campus is a safe and welcoming place to learn and grow.

What Youll DoPatrol school grounds, buildings, and parking lots to maintain visibility and security.

Respond to incidents such as accidents, injuries, altercations, and alarms.

Monitor student behavior during the school day and at school sponsored events, promoting positive behavior and enforcing rules.

Build supportive relationships with students to encourage trust, accountability, and a positive school climate.

Conduct fire drills, lockdowns, and other emergency drills.

Communicate safety procedures and policies to students, staff, and visitors.

Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate safety records.

Escort students and visitors when requiredWhat Were Looking ForKnowledge of trauma informed safety practices, emergency response, and school policies.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to stay calm, professional, and fair under pressure.

Comfortable working with diverse groups of students, families, and staff.

Physically able to patrol campus and respond quickly to incidents.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Enjoy working with adolescents.
