Job Overview:
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Armed Security Officer to safeguard our premises, personnel, and assets. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through active patrols, surveillance, and provide rapid response to incidents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a frontline protector while working within a team dedicated to excellence in security operations. Security Officers' Key Responsibilities and Duties (Observe and Report): Security Officers must be courteous, well-mannered, and always exhibit self-discipline. In performing this duty, it is expected that you will be neat in appearance, professional, friendly, courteous, and wear proper your company ID/Badge at all times. Officers' primary duty is to OBSERVE and REPORT. Officers must report any and all suspicious activity. Officers are to maintain a high level of professionalism when communicating with a customer and/or teammate. Officers should record, in writing, and submit any information regarding suspicious activity. Requirements forArmed Security Officers:
Your weapon should always remain holstered. The only time you should unholster your weapon would be during an incident requiring it. There will be no sighting of your weapon, or any other reason to remove your weapon from the holster while on the property.Miscellaneous:
At no time is it appropriate for a security officer to be seated while on duty. Security Officers can ask solicitors, people loitering, or causing a disturbance to leave the property. .If this does take place, they should partner with the Store Management/MOD. At any time that the Officer leaves his/her post for either a meal period or break, management must be informed and the break must be taken off-post. Cell phones use is only permitted during break. Smoking is only permitted during break. All smoking must be done off post or in a personal vehicle. While on duty, Security Guards will limit cell phone use to emergency situations or to contact their supervisor. In case of fire, Officers shall have no responsibility other than to call for local emergency services and support the manager on duty. The Officer will not fraternize or over-socialize with employees and teammates while on duty. Security Officers will not discharge their duties by discriminating against anyone based on race, sex, or religious affiliation. We are the contract holder for this position; when filled, this position and the applicant will be referred to our locally licensed vendor for employment. Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of the job site using CCTV systems and physical inspections to deter unauthorized access and identify potential threats. Monitor surveillance equipment continuously to detect suspicious activity or security breaches. Respond swiftly and effectively to incidents, including alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed. Manage access control by verifying credentials of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors to ensure only authorized personnel enter restricted areas. Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and security records accurately and promptly. Provide first aid or CPR when necessary and assist in emergency evacuations or conflict resolution efforts. Preferred Requirements Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields with a focus on safety and protection. (2 years preferred, but not required) Valid certification in first aid and CPR; additional certifications such as CCTV operation or surveillance systems are highly desirable. (Preferred, but not required). Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure during high-stress situations. Experience with CCTV monitoring systems. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods while maintaining alertness throughout shifts.Job Types:
