Security Guard Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Security Guard to join our team at a thriving community-focused company located in the heart of Downtown Bellevue. Responsibilities Operate radio, telephone, computerized, and electronic communications equipment for security operations. Perform duties as a licensed security/communication officer on a 24/7 basis, typically working five eight-hour shifts per week. Act independently and with initiative, maintaining proficiency in all security-related tasks. Complete regular testing to demonstrate knowledge and skills. Provide courteous and effective communication both orally and in writing. Read, understand, and interpret rules and regulations, including safety regulations. Work independently, taking initiative to correct problems or find solutions. Monitor and operate fixed-base communications equipment as part of a security network. Coordinate movement of security personnel in routine and emergency situations. Maintain current and accurate field unit locations and monitor electronic alarms and emergency systems. Provide public information and assistance on operational hours, rules, and local ordinances. Monitor video surveillance systems and maintain logs of field activities. Prepare reports, type testimony, statements, and other materials. Perform clerical duties such as filing, data coding, and managing lost and found property. Essential Skills Completion of pre-assignment security training, safety orientation, and emergency evacuation training. Certification in CPR/First Aid & AED, fire extinguisher and response training. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer systems. Ability to maintain composure and make decisions under pressure. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and establish effective working relationships. Considerable knowledge of departmental rules, radio communication codes, and pertinent laws. Additional Skills & Qualifications Optional training in flagging for special events. Ability to quickly assimilate information and formulate action plans. Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Why Work Here?
