Security Guard (Part time, 20 hours a week) - Seattle WA Temple The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - 4.7 Bellevue, WA Job Details Part-time 14 hours ago Qualifications First aid and CPR Full Job Description Provides security coverage for the protection of Church property from fire, theft, vandalism, trespassing, and illegal entry; renders appropriate first aid response in medical situations occurring on Church property; renders security-related assistance to employees, visitors, tourists; makes on-the-spot decisions for necessary response. 25% Makes required number of reviews of buildings and grounds during assigned shift. 20% Examines doors, windows, and gates to assure they are secure. Inspects for potential sources of improper entry to the buildings and reports them to the security supervisor for correction. 15% Assists those in need of information, directions, or with other problems. Works any shift or post as needed. Available on twenty-four hour basis as needed for emergencies. 10% Registers at security checkpoints as required. 10% Makes personal contact with persons causing trouble and/or contacts the appropriate police agency. Makes searches of buildings on bomb calls or other threats. 10% Renders appropriate first aid assistance to all persons on Church property when needed. Contacts ambulance and paramedic services in emergency situations. 5% Watches for and reports security and safety hazards, such as unauthorized persons, suspicious circumstances, fire, physical, and mechanical hazards. Takes part in security training to develop his job capacity, skills, and security awareness. 5% Makes out all necessary written reports related to assignments and keeps a record noting any unusual events. Summons help as needed. Basic reading, writing and communications skills. Requires tact and judgment in exercising duties. Typically requires a minimum of 2-3 years security, law enforcement or military experience. Successful completion of prescribed security training and certification test within 90 day period (CPR, First Aid, Basic Security Procedures, etc.), and recertification each year thereafter. 2 years of post high school education or equivalent security training preferred. (Additional security related schooling and experience helpful.) Has no prior police record, or affiliation with anti-government or anti-Church groups. Ability to lead others communicating direction clearly. Church employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord's work.
