Job Description

About us We are a large recreational community surrounding a 55 acre lake in Concrete, WA. We have a dedicated staff that cares for the common areas. We are looking to add another security officer to our existing team. We are looking for a Security Officer to join our team and help protect our premises, assets, and personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling the facility, responding to alarms, investigating disturbances, and enforcing security regulations. The ideal candidate will have excellent observational skills and a strong sense of responsibility. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, trustworthy, and capable of handling any situation that may arise.
Responsibilities:
Read and understand the Lake Tyee Bylaws, Restrictive Protective Restrictions and Limitations, other regulatory policies etc. and stay informed of all amendments to such documents. Maintain up-to-date manuals. Patrol grounds routinely, inspect all Lake Tyee amenities for unusual activity. Be visible when on shift. Stay alert for unusual or suspicious activity on all common and lot owner properties. Note and record vehicles, license plates, etc. Question those whose activity or behavior seems suspect. Maintain a daily security shift log detailing times and areas patrolled, observations, water tower level checks, member situations handled, etc. Execute security responsibilities consistent with a "soft security" or "progressive discipline" methodology and a customer service orientation, as relates to member infractions. Be thoroughly familiar with the daily Security Log, Incident Report, Citation, Vehicle Status Log, and other forms that exist or may be added to the position to ensure proper documentation is maintained for all issues, incidents, investigations etc. as appropriate. Be fully conversant with The Lake's emergency evacuation plan, policies and procedures. Report emergency or unusual circumstances to manager immediately followed by a written report, Maintain a pleasant attitude toward all. Courtesy is imperative. Be pleasant but firm in situations where adherence to policy must be achieved. Carry out responsibilities in a prompt and efficient manner. Implement changes as approved and directed by manager and board. Monitor entry at gates as much as possible to ensure validity of those who are present in The Lake. Follow up on unauthorized entry (member "double carding" or vehicle "follow through") wherever possible. Properly maintain security shack and equipment for effective job performance. Ensure security vehicle(s) is ready for use per the vehicle check-off sheet at start of each shift. Be prepared for circumstances that may require 911 emergency calls. Open and close all Lake Tyee facilities as required by policy, posted signs, or direction from manager. Log water tower level and monitor pump house operation, to ensure proper water system operation and early problem detection at all times. Keep the Lake's roadways clear of debris for emergency vehicles and member access as much as possible during storm conditions. Notify the manager immediately for any power outages or water system problems. Manually open gates promptly in power outages to allow staff, emergency and member vehicle access and exit. Be aware of Lake activities or functions that may require a change in the normal security routine, altering schedules as needed to facilitate best coverage of both security and member needs. (Clubhouse parties, Social Committee functions, etc.) Monitor pool levels and chemical balance. Clean as needed. Perform other duties requested or assigned by the Manager and/or Office Administrator.
