Job Description

Join our team as a Security Observer in a fun, fast-paced environment with room to grow! The purpose of this position is to perform security observing work by monitoring the premises using CCTV or DVR equipment and creating a safe, friendly environment for guests and employees. Starting wage is $24.43/hr increasing to $25.00/hr at successful completion of 90-day orientation period. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.
Essential Job Functions:
Observes parking areas for all casino properties via CCTV and reports and documents any relevant activities and emergency situations. Maintains a visible security presence in all assigned areas taking an active role in ensuring the safety and security of all guests and employees. Performs regular and random security patrols as an individual or team in assigned areas to deter suspicious and criminal activity. Provides with access control including verifying personal identification, vehicle information, and other credentials for all individuals. Responds to internal emergency calls including fire, injury, theft, accidents, alarms, and other threats. Provides first responder assistance or renders appropriate aid as necessary. Remains calm and assists individuals during incidents. Directs and controls vehicle movement and ensures that walkways, entrances, exits, and fire lanes are clear. Documents, secures, and preserves incident scenes by gathering statements, taking photographs, collecting and preserving evidence while following all rules, regulations, policies, and laws. Completes required reports and tasks in a timely manner without error. Reports alleged criminal activity and emergency information to law enforcement, fire department, and casino management. Prevents loss and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policies and procedures, and involving Tribal Gaming Agents as required. Discusses areas of concern or issues with management as they arise during their assigned shift. Maintains a working knowledge of all casino properties and events. Understands, follows, and enforces all applicable gaming regulations, policies, and procedures. Safeguards confidential documents on casino incidents. Performs the duties of other Security Officer positions as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Experience & Requirements:
One year of security experience required. Must have excellent communication and guest relation skills Basic report writing skills is required Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours Must be able to maintain a high level on concentration The ability to lift up to 75 pounds Mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays All applicants must obtain a Class III A license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. However, the use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant unless the position requires driving a company vehicle.
