Job Description

Salary:
$18.00-$22.00, depending on experience.
Hours:
Anticipated schedule is Saturdays 8pm to 2am, but times can change depending on customer needs. Total hours, days, and times are subject to change​ based on the needs of the business. Additional hours/shifts /positions may become available .
Job Description:
Event Security Officer I An Event Security Officer (ESO) acts with a high level of professionalism at all times while protecting premises, assets, and personnel during event gatherings such as weddings, quinceaneras, and other events. ESOs will maintain a highly visible presence, depending on a client's requirements, and prevent illegal, inappropriate, or disruptive actions by individuals both attending the event and attempting entry to the event. The primary objectives of an ESO are to continuously scan large areas and groups of individuals to proactively identify behavior that could lead to a disruption of the event and immediately intervene to de-escalate the situation. If the situation cannot be de-escalated or a criminal action has taken place, an ESO will move to stop the individual's actions, detain the individual for law enforcement if warranted, or otherwise remove the individual from the event, causing minimal disruption to other event attendees. ESOs must be willing and capable to meet and address a variety of security issues. Following any incident, ESOs will complete a detailed report for the client and for law enforcement, if warranted. ESOs are expected to follow all Post Orders and Company policies during their shifts. Successful applicants will possess honesty, integrity, tolerance, good judgment, the ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner, and be willing and able to deal with potentially high-stress emergency situations. Additionally, a successful applicant shall always readily present a pleasant and courteous professional attitude and appearance while on duty. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following: Actively monitor the venue ensuring established security procedures and measures are enforced to protect people and property. Maintain a safe and secure environment while minimizing actions that detract from the event. Deter and/or apprehend individuals who commit criminal acts, evict violators of venue policies, and act lawfully in direct defense of life or property. Utilize a tablet, computer, or smartphone to log and report all activities performed during shift. Employees must have a smartphone with NFC capabilities. Investigate and complete incident reports of all significant incidents involved with on duty. Understand the proper use of technology systems including tablets, computers, smartphones, video management, access control, and alarm systems. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and communicate in a professional manner to co-workers, supervisory staff, clients, and the general public. Demonstrate effective de-escalation skills to minimize incidents and limit disruptions to the event and event attendees. Enforce physical security and access control procedures established by our clients and outlined in the post orders. Follow all company policies and procedures as specified in the employee handbook and/or Standard Operating Procedures. Perform first aid, CPR, or utilize an AED as required. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills:
No previous experience required as we will provide training to the right candidate .
Helpful skills include:
Knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols Physically and mentally willing and capable to address a variety of situations directly Surveillance/observation skills and being detail-orientated Understand and carry out oral and written directions Think and act quickly and effectively in emergencies. Analyze situations accurately and make appropriate decisions in a timely manner Provide clear and concise instructions to constituents in a variety of unexpected situations and emergencies Observe and report facts/information accurately. This includes providing written factual reports, without opinion Understand and operate physical security devices such as video cameras and access control if needed.

Part-Time Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to qualify and obtain Washington State Security Guard License Must have a reliable means of transportation Must have the legal right to work in the United States Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently Must have a high school diploma or GED Must be able to push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs Must be willing to participate in the company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen, background screen, and have a clean driving record without any violations within the last 5 years. Able to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays Able to utilize a tablet, computer, smartphone, or other technologies Must have a smartphone with NFC capabilities Always maintain a professional uniformed appearance and demeanor Contacts city emergency personnel (police, fire, EMS) immediately for any security, fire, life safety, and medical issues warranting their degree of intervention. With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up includes and on uneven terrain. Working long periods of time in sometimes harsh weather conditions, at night, outside.
