Alcohol Compliance Representative

Position Title:

Alcohol Compliance Representative Rate of Pay:

$20.25 per hour

Position Purpose:

Ensures compliance by patrons and vendors of all State and facility safety and alcohol laws and regulations. This is a seasonal temporary position not to exceed 122 days.

Swing Shift:

3:30PM-12:00AM, shifts are subject to change based on business needs.

Essential Functions:

Patrols the fairgrounds property on foot to maintain compliance with State and facility alcohol laws and regulations. Acts as ambassador for the OCFEC by answering inquiries from patrons, employees, business partners and guests, and responds to requests for assistance. Ensures that safe practices are in effect and works proactively with others to promote a safe environment. Works with Safety & Security Department staff and local law enforcement to investigate all alleged violations of alcohol laws and policies. Prepares clear and concise written reports of investigations. Deters crimes and addresses public safety issues. Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to follow verbal instructions necessary. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills a must, particularly in dealing with others in difficult situations. Outstanding customer service skills a must. Strong investigation and report-writing skills are necessary. Must be available to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair- mid July- mid August. Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs. Must be able to complete the facility's approved Alcohol Management training program and successfully pass the exam.

Preferences:

Previous security experience, particularly dealing with alcohol compliance.

Work Environment:

Will work in a fast-paced environment, mostly in outdoor locations during all types of weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, but quieter noise levels may be experienced if working in indoor locations.
