POSITION
Deputy Patrol ALL1000 Complete assignments/special The member will successfully complete all assignments projects as directed and/or special projects to specifications as directed and within the specified time frame, budgetary requirements (if applicable), and applicable general ALL1001a Maintain work areas/vehicles The member ensures that their work area/vehicle is clean, organized, safe and presentable in accordance with agency policies and procedures. ALL1005 Participate in training, As applicable, the member actively participates in seminars/conferences as training classes, seminars, and simulations exercises (if directed/required applicable) designed to enhance job specific skills, knowledge, and abilities or to fulfill specific requirements. ALL1006 Attend shift briefings or staff The member is on time for and attends shift briefings or meetings as required/directed staff meetings, recording all pertinent information and directives, and providing superiors and colleagues with job/shift related information. ALL1008 Inspect/inventory vehicle and The member inspects the vehicle prior to shift to equipment prior to shift ensure that the vehicle is safe to operate and all emergency equipment is operational. The member inventories required supplies/tools/equipment and replaces items as needed pursuant to agency policies. Found malfunctions or deficiencies are corrected pursuant to the prescribed procedures pursuant to CIB1043a Collect/package/preserve The member correctly identifies, marks, collects, evidence/property packages, and seals all evidence according to agency policy and consistent with standards of any state, local or federal lab conducting analyses, to include human tissues or fluids or physical evidence having potential biological contamination. CIB1043b Maintain chain-of-custody of The member will accurately document and carefully evidence maintain the security and control of all collected evidence, ensuring the integrity of the evidence and limited accessibility so the evidence may be presented and accepted by a court of law pursuant to state and federal statutes consistent with agency policies and procedures, to include human tissues or fluids or physical evidence having potential biological contamination. CMP5090a Identify/monitor prior The member will utilize all available law enforcement offenders/extremist groups and/or and community resources to accurately identify and gang members monitor prior offenders, gang members, or extremist groups' activities/presence in the community with the goal of preventing potential criminal activities and without violating the constitutional rights of the individual(s) consistent with agency policies. CMP5090c Identify/monitor gang hangouts The member identifies gang member hangouts, and monitors these locations for gang related activity and to assist in identifying new/current gang members and associates. CMP5090d Counsel gang members The member informally counsels gang members, explaining the consequences of their actions and providing assistance/direction to modify gang member behavior with the goal of turning gang members away from the gang culture and becoming productive members of the community. CMP5091d Develop rapport with community The member will make regular contact with community inhabitants inhabitants in order to encourage citizen participation in eradicating crime from the community consistent with agency policies. CMP5092a Conduct minor investigations The member will utilize all available legal law enforcement and community resources to successfully resolve minor investigations consistent with agency policies. LE5000 Monitor / respond to dispatch and The member diligently monitors dispatch and responds calls for service. to all dispatch directed services calls in a timely manner consistent with call classification and in accordance with agency policies. LE5002e Administer field check to suspected The member identifies elements of DUI and properly intoxicated operators administers standard field sobriety tests to the driver / operator in accordance with State laws and agency policies. The officer accurately records results of each test, making a correct decision whether to release the subject or affect the arrest of the subject. LE5003 Perform field drug test The member correctly tests suspected illegal/controlled substances using the field chemical reagent drug test kit. Substances testing positive are seized and the appropriate legal action taken. LE5006a Respond to traffic The officer will respond to traffic accidents/crashes in a manner consistent with the urgency of the call and upon arrival immediately assess the situation and requests appropriate assistance as necessary (fire, EMT, etc.) in accordance with agency policy and LE5007 Setup and monitor radar. The officer will determine and select appropriate location for radar. The officer will ensure that the device is functioning to specifications and will diligently monitor and record vehicle speed, stopping vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit in accordance with agency policies. LE5008 Monitor and report road / traffic The member will monitor road / traffic conditions, conditions and hazards reporting any problems or potential problems as well as any road hazards to dispatch and supervisor if necessary in accordance with agency policies. LE5009a Observe traffic for violators The officer diligently observes traffic and initiates a traffic stop of vehicles violating the vehicular/traffic laws in accordance with agency policies. LE5009b Conduct traffic stop. The officer will correctly and safely conduct a traffic stop with minimal disruption of traffic flow while adhering to officer safety procedures at all times and either issue a citation or warning to the driver and or passengers in accordance with applicable traffic laws and agency policies. LE5009e Direct traffic flow. The member will safely direct traffic in and around congested, secure, accident, or hazardous areas in accordance with agency policies. LE5009g Set up/operate traffic controls The member will properly set up and operate traffic controls in accordance with agency policies/procedures and in a manner that facilitates an efficient flow of traffic while ensuring the safety of the LE5009j Identify elements of aggressive The member observes and identifies elements of driving aggressive driving, safely stopping and issuing citations to aggressive drivers pursuant to applicable state and local traffic laws. LE5011 Provide assistance to other units. The member responds to calls for assistance, providing the requesting unit with the assistance required to safely resolve the situation in accordance with agencies policies. LE5017 Secure crime scene. The first responder to a crime scene will identify such as a crime scene, disperse onlookers, gather witnesses, set up a cordon around the perimeter of the scene and ensure that the integrity of the crime scene and evidence is not compromised, tampered with, altered, contaminated, or left unattended in accordance with agency policies. LE5026a Guard persons in custody The officer maintains control of individuals in custody, ensuring that no escapes or unnecessary injuries occur and the suspect's rights are not violated pursuant to agency policies. LE5027 Initiate new cases. The member will gather accurate information or pertinent evidence and correctly determine if investigation is warranted in accordance with state laws and agency policies. LE5037 Conduct active patrolling of The officer will promote public safety in patrol areas assigned area/zone/beat consistent with agency policies by conducting routine active patrolling of assigned zones/ areas/beats observing and investigating all suspicious activities / subjects. If applicable, the officer will leave the assigned area only when directed to do so by the appropriate authority. LE5038 Request NCIC/State/DMV The member transmits accurate information to dispatch information when requesting NCIC/State/DMV information. The member takes the appropriate action upon receipt of the requested information pursuant to applicable statutes and agency policy. LE5040 Conduct high risk/felony stop. The member will conduct a high risk/felony stop in accordance with department policy and without intentionally or negligently causing undue injury or violating the constitutional rights of the suspect(s).
