Job Description

at Illinois Gaming Board in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Essential Functions As a sworn armed peace officer, serves as a Gaming Special Agent ensuring the integrity of gaming in the State of Illinois by enforcing the Illinois Gambling Act, Video Gaming Act, Sports Wagering Act, State Fair Gaming Act, and any other statutes for which the Gaming board has jurisdiction. Conducts interviews and investigates complaints. Processes casino and video gaming applications for licenses. Assists the Attorney General, State's Attorney and the U.S. Attorney's Offices in preparation of cases for civil or criminal prosecution. Coordinates with other law enforcement agencies and gaming jurisdictions in conducting joint investigations or in exchanging information on persons associated with the gaming industry. Participates in various trainings, including, but not limited to: Fireamrs, Professional, and Fitness. Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires two years of college with coursework in criminal justice, law enforcement, pre-law business administration, or a related field, plus five consecutive years of full-time service as a police officer with the same law enforcement agency; OR Requires a minimum of twenty years of sworn law enforcement experience in good standing with the same law enforcement agency; OR Requires successful completion of the Gaming Special Agent Trainee program. Preferred Qualifications Prefers one (1) year experience in conducting investigations. Prefers one (1) year experience writing thoroughly documented investigative reports. Prefers one (1) year experience reviewing or analyzing records to ensure compliance with regulations, statutes, laws.
