AGENT ENFORCEMENT DIVISION (LAUGHLIN) - UNCLASSIFIED

This position is a field services agent position in the Laughlin Enforcement Office. This is a law enforcement position responsible for responding to calls for service by the public and industry. Field Services agents conduct criminal investigations and arrest violators; regulate the industry through observations, inspections and by investigating gaming employee applications for suitability; and conduct dispute arbitration investigations mandated by statute between patrons and licensees. Laughlin Field Service agents are on duty and respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7) to fulfill our statutory obligations such as gaming regulators, dispute investigators and certified peace officers tasked to handle criminal matters. A Nevada P.O.S.T. Category I Certification is required for the position. Current Nevada Category

Certified personnel must maintain their certification; newly hired personnel must be able to obtain certification within the first 12 months of employment. Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree. Applicants with degrees in criminal justice, administration of justice, pre-law, business administration, public administration, accounting, economics, finance, and computer science will be most competitive within the applicant pool, however, degrees in other disciplines may qualify, based on the totality of the applicant's qualifications. Applicants who do not have a four-year degree may receive consideration for equivalent education including academic certifications, and/or work experience, which can be substituted in lieu of the Bachelor's requirement on a year-for-year basis. Qualifying professional experience in lieu of education will include casino operations, casino surveillance/game protection, physical security to include nightclub operations, white collar crime and or fraud investigation, military service, and work experience to include intelligence collection, leadership, management skills, or expertise in the areas of legal research, accounting, business or public administration, or computer science with a focus on cyber investigations. Applicants must possess or be able to attain certification as a category I peace officer by the Nevada Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Commission within one year of appointment. Applicants must meet the Minimum Physical Fitness Requirements for a category I peace officer prior to appointment.
