Job Description
Job Overview The position entails investigative work that will involve locating, supervising, and transporting missing/runaway juveniles and families. This frequently entails in-person and telephone interviews with associates and relatives, online research, and court document research/review/analysis. Position may also include conducting surveillance when needed and requested. Additional responsibilities may include safely transporting children of various ages and providing supervision of children as required by client. Responsibilities and Duties Conduct investigations that lead to the locate of missing/runaway juveniles and families and child welfare supportive lines of services.
Work often includes:
In-person and telephonic interviews with associates and relatives Preparation of professional, cohesive and accurate in-depth reports that contain observation with strong attention to detail, not to include opinion or recommendation Online research; Court research, review, and analysis Transportation of juvenile Surveillance / Safety Monitoring Provide testimony, when needed, in judicial proceedings Serve as a liaison between child welfare agencies, law enforcement and other interfacing organizations; build and maintain positive, professional relationship with client(s) Perform all duties and tasks assigned by direct report and/or Executive Management Requirements Pass drug test and criminal background check Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for casework Maintain confidentiality and sensitive information Must maintain accurate payroll, billing and case records, according to protocol and policy Participate in on-call rotation Flexibility to work varied/irregular hours including weekends Work independently in a professional, respectful, legal and ethical manner Apply investigative skills and principles Strong organizational skills and task management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Job duties can include air travel and days out of town. All necessary forms of ID are required to be obtained and maintained to meet these requirements Physical Demands Personal defense training is provided. Work requires walking, entering areas where climbing stairs is required, standing, stopping, and potentially push, pull, grasping and lift depending on the facility. Vocal communication is required by means of spoken words. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken levels. Visual acuity is required for depth perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of vehicles, and observing general surroundings and activities. Work Environment Subject to indoor and outdoor conditions and may be exposed to high-risk stressful conditions. Education and Experience Degree in criminal justice field preferred Experience in the investigative industry, law enforcement or human services field preferred.
