Job Description

Job Summary The Surveillance Officer is responsible for protecting the integrity of gaming operations, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring the safety of guests and employees through continuous monitoring of surveillance systems. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strict confidentiality, and compliance with all gaming regulations, company policies, and Surveillance Standard Operating Procedures. Key Responsibilities Monitor all property activities using surveillance camera systems to detect violations, suspicious behavior, theft, fraud, and other criminal activity Safeguard company assets and gaming integrity through proactive and reactive surveillance review Observe and document incidents involving guests, employees, or the facility Generate accurate, timely, and detailed written reports related to surveillance incidents and investigations Preserve and export video evidence in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements Respond to requests from Security, Management, or Regulatory agencies Assist with investigations related to internal and external incidents Maintain strict confidentiality of surveillance operations and information Ensure compliance with state and federal gaming regulations Identify trends, risks, or procedural weaknesses and report findings to management Conduct scheduled, random, and targeted surveillance audits as directed Maintain working knowledge of Surveillance Standard Operating Procedures Communicate effectively with Security and Management during incidents or emergencies Perform additional duties as assigned by the Surveillance Manager or Director Skills and Abilities Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills Ability to concentrate for extended periods while monitoring multiple video feeds Strong written communication skills, particularly for detailed report writing Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high ethical standards Ability to recognize suspicious behavior and regulatory violations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Professional judgment and decision-making skills Basic computer proficiency and ability to operate surveillance software Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required Prior surveillance, security, casino gaming, law enforcement, or investigative experience preferred Knowledge of gaming regulations strongly preferred Experience with CCTV or digital surveillance systems preferred Must be able to obtain and maintain required gaming licenses Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring surveillance systems Ability to visually observe multiple screens for long durations Ability to work in a low-light environment Ability to hear and communicate clearly via radio and telephone Ability to respond promptly to incidents when required Schedule Requirements Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
