Lone Star Prisoner Transport, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and responsible Transportation Security Officer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the safety, security, and proper handling of individuals being transported between correctional facilities. You will be tasked with maintaining control, monitoring the safety of prisoners, and ensuring the enforcement of all security protocols during transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure Security During Transport:
Safely and securely transport prisoners to and from correctional facilities, following strict security measures and company protocols.
Maintain Control:
Monitor prisoners throughout the transport process, preventing any escape attempts or violent incidents. Remain alert to potential security threats. Adhere to
Protocols:
Follow established security protocols and guidelines for prisoner transportation, including proper restraint procedures, documentation, and communication. Respond to
Emergencies:
Act quickly and appropriately in emergency situations, including managing disturbances, addressing health issues, and alerting appropriate authorities as needed.
Documentation & Reporting:
Accurately complete transport logs, security reports, and incident reports when required. Collaborate with
Other Security Teams:
Work with correctional officers, law enforcement, and other team members to ensure smooth transitions and coordination at pick-up and drop-off points.
Conduct Routine Checks:
Perform routine vehicle inspections and checks on security equipment to ensure everything is operational before transport.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional security or law enforcement training is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in law enforcement, security, or corrections is preferred but not required.
Certifications:
Certification in First Aid/CPR is an asset. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Skills:
Strong observational and problem-solving skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, excellent communication skills, and physical fitness for the demands of the job.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry moderate loads, and remain alert during long transportation shifts.
Compensation:
Competitive Salary Work Environment:
This is a field-based position that will involve long hours in transport vehicles. Candidates should be comfortable working in various weather conditions and dealing with high-stress situations. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, out of state overnight stays, and may be on the road for many days. Each transport varies.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$3,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month
Schedule:
12 hour shift Monday to Friday On call Overnight shift Weekends as needed
