Duties Mow lawns using power tools such as riding mowers, push mowers, and trimmers to ensure neat and healthy grass. Perform landscape maintenance tasks including edging, trimming shrubs, pruning trees, and planting flowers to enhance curb appeal. Operate hand tools like shovels, rakes, and hoes for planting, soil preparation, and general yard cleanup. Assist with irrigation system installation and repairs to keep landscapes properly watered. Use equipment such as excavators or other machinery for hardscape projects like patios or walkways. Conduct snow plowing during winter months to keep driveways and walkways clear. Support tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and health assessments to promote safety and growth. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain lawn care equipment and power tools safely. Experience with lawn care practices including mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and weed control. Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques such as planting, mulching, and soil management. Familiarity with landscaping design principles and hardscape installation. Ability to use hand tools effectively for gardening and construction tasks. Experience operating machinery like excavators or other construction equipment is a plus. Understanding of horticulture principles related to plant health and garden design. Skills in tree care including trimming, pruning, and disease management. Ability to perform snow plowing efficiently during winter seasons. Basic knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting.
