He had just started an engineering internship after college when he was hit while crossing the road. Esmond was a weird person, he made odd jokes, wore short shorts to school, had extensive knowledge of mythological tales, and never took himself seriously. He was also extremely kind and smart. He wanted to change the world and those who knew him knew it would happen. Esmond is the main love interest. As this is a table read there is no intimacy required for the role.
