As a Lead Budtender, you'll be at the forefront of our mission, being a part of a talented team ensuring operational excellence, customer service, and compliance. Lead Budtender duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide a top-notch customer experience, offering recommendations based on customer needs Educate customers on cannabis strains, consumption methods, and responsible use Ensure compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations Manage inventory, stock shelves, and maintain a clean and organized store Process transactions securely using our cannabis POS system Provide floor leadership during assigned shifts Support onboarding and training of new Budtenders Assist with inventory audits, cycle counts and receiving Address customer concerns or escalate issues when appropriate Assist Store Director with daily reporting and shift summaries Store open and close responsibilities Promote teamwork, culture and accountability on the sales floor What you bring to the table: Retail and/or Dispensary Leadership experience (1+ years) Leadership skills to mentor and motivate a high-performing team Operational expertise in sales, inventory control, and compliance Customer-centric mindset to create an outstanding dispensary experience Adaptability and problem solving skills to thrive in Montana's evolving cannabis marketplaceScheduling Expectations & Requirements:
This role operates within a dynamic retail environment and is designed to provide consistent leadership coverage in partnership with the Store Director. To support daily operations and ensure the store is effectively managed at all times, this position typically follows a schedule that complements and offsets the Store Director's working hours. The Store Director schedule is generally Tuesday-Saturday. Because this is a retail-based role, evenings, weekends, and peak business hours are a regular and expected part of the schedule. Flexibility is essential, as business needs may require adjustments including extended shifts, coverage on scheduled days off, or schedule changes to support store operations, team coverage and compliance priorities. Maintaining strong operational support for the Store Director and the broader team is a key component of this role, and scheduling will reflect the needs of the business.
