Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and experienced Lead Carpenter / Construction Lead to oversee and execute high-quality construction projects from start to finish. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of skilled carpenters and tradespeople, coordinate project timelines, and ensure all work meets safety standards, building codes, and client specifications. Your expertise in various carpentry disciplines and construction processes will drive project success, delivering exceptional results on time and within budget. This position offers a dynamic environment where your leadership and technical skills will make a tangible impact on diverse construction projects. Duties Lead and supervise carpentry crews, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow across all phases of construction projects. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project plans. Perform or oversee framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, cabinet installation, siding, roofing, drywall installation, plastering, stucco application, flooring installation, tile laying, and metal stud framing. Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively to complete tasks with precision. Manage construction site activities including heavy lifting, concrete forming, rebar installation, plumbing rough-ins, electrical work coordination, masonry tasks, water damage restoration efforts, mold remediation projects, and restoration industry requirements. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and building codes while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Collaborate with project managers to estimate materials and labor needs accurately; assist with construction estimating when required. Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure project milestones are met. Document progress through reports and maintain detailed records of work performed for quality assurance and future reference. Skills Extensive experience in construction blueprint reading to plan projects thoroughly. Proficiency in various carpentry disciplines including trim carpentry, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, cabinetry installation, door hanging, siding application, roofing techniques, flooring installation, tile laying, plastering, stucco application, caulking, drywall finishing, and fixture installation. Skilled in the use of hand tools (hammers, saws), power tools (drills, saws). Strong knowledge of construction site safety standards along with experience managing multiple trades on-site. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout demanding workdays. Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings; capable of interpreting complex plans for accurate execution. Experience in restoration projects including water damage remediation and mold removal industry practices. Knowledge of plumbing systems—rough-ins and fixture installations—as well as electrical experience for basic wiring tasks. Competence in masonry work—bricklaying or concrete forming—and general remodeling procedures. Excellent communication skills to lead teams effectively while coordinating with clients and project stakeholders.
