Facility Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Location Fayetteville, North Carolina Department Child Care Services Job Family Professional Work Shift Days (United States of America) Summary Demonstrates positive teaching practices, maintain professionalism, leadership skills, in an effective learning and safe environment. Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Maintains a positive parent-teacher relationship Interacts appropriately with children Maintains Learning Centers Maintains a warm, inviting child friendly classroom environment Plans and implements Educational programs and daily activities Establishes a weekly schedule and lesson plan Promotes each child's social, emotional, intellectual and physical development Provides a clean, safe and healthy work environment Maintains accurate records Documents children's progress and completes all State required documents Provides instruction for Teachers Manages children's behavior Comply with the provisions of the Child Maltreatment Reporting Act by bringing any suspected cases of child maltreatment to Director or Co-Director for possible reporting to the designated reporting agency Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
Education and Formal Training:
Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required CPR and First Aid certifications required Infant Toddler Safe Sleep (ITS-SIDS) certification required
Work Experience:
1 year of responsible classroom experience in a professional large Child Care Center required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social characteristics of children ages birth-five years old and up to 12 years old for Weekend Care Knowledge of State Child Care regulations
Physical Requirements:
